In 1925, Pierre and Marie Blanc moved from their native Lozère to settle in Uzès, and bought a farmhouse which was to become Domaine Saint Firmin. Their son Emile went on to extend the Domaine and its vineyards, and today Saint Firmin vines grow across many hectares of Uzès’s sunny hillsides.
Fast-forward almost a century, and we find the Domaine in the hands of the third generation, with brothers Didier and Robert keeping the family winemaking traditions alive.
Tasks are evenly split: Robert takes care of the vines from pruning through to harvest, while Didier looks after the wine, from vinification to sales. Teamwork at its best! And with the next generation waiting in the wings (Robert’s son Guillaume is gearing up to join the estate after his studies), this family saga looks set to continue for some time yet.
Theirs is the only independent winery in Uzès, and lies within the city itself. The Blanc brothers love to share their winemaking expertise, extending a warm welcome to visitors all year round.
The Domaine’s 45 hectares of vineyard have been in conversion to organic agriculture for three years; 2022 will be the first fully organic vintage.
